Small Group Sessions

Thank you to everyone that has taken time to submit a small group session proposal.  The committee will meet in early May to select presentations for the conference.  Letters will be sent to everyone that submitted a small group session proposal by mid May to let you know if the session was accepted or not.  Check back in June for a full listing of Small Group Sessions.  Please contact pam@ilprincipals.org if you have any questions.  

Small Group Session Schedule - Peoria Civic Center

Monday, October 22, 2012 - 8:00 - 8:55 a.m.; 11:00 - 11:55 a.m.; 3:05 - 4:00 p.m.
Tuesday, October 23, 2012 - 8:00 - 8:55 a.m.; 9:00 - 9:55 a.m.; 11:35 - 12:30 p.m. 

Essentials for all Proposals:

  • Presentations should be planned for 45 minutes, not including ten minutes for your introduction and questions/answers, for a total of 55 minutes.
  • Please type all information.
  • Applicants must select a standards domain for the presentation
  • Please do not send supplemental materials.
  • All proposals must use materials and language that does not discriminate on the basis of gender, race, color, ethnicity, religion, physical ability or sexual orientation.
  • Incomplete proposals forms will not be evaluated.

Selection Criteria for Proposals:

  • Relevance to the principalship
  • Timeliness of topic
  • Well defined focus of topic
  • Practical application of information
  • Creativity
  • Use of audiovisual and handouts
  • Potential to attract and stimulate convention attendees
ISLLC National Standards
Standard One - Vision: A School administrator is an educational leader who promotes the success of all students by facilitating the development, articulation, implementation, and stewardship of a vision of learning that is shared ans supported by the school community.

Standard Two - Curriculum and Instruction: A school administrator is an educational leader who promotes the success of all students by advocating, nurturing, and sustaining school culture and instructional programming conducive to student learning and staff professional growth.

Standard Three - Management: A school administrator is an educational leader who promotes the success of all students by collaborating with families and community members, responding to diverse community interests and needs, and mobilizing community resources.
 
Standard Four - Community: A school administrator is an educational leader who promotes the success of all students by collaborating with families and community members, responding to diverse community interests and needs, and mobilizing community resources.

Standard Five - Ethics: A school administrator is an educational leader who promotes the success of all students by acting with integrity, fairness, and an ethical manner.
 
Standard Six - Political and Cultural: A school administrator is an educational leader who promotes the success of all students by understanding, responding to, and influencing the larger political, social, economic, legal, and cultural context.
